ETWINNING PROJECTS

Kaloi ludi for etwinners: going for the gold!

The closing ceremony of our particular Olympics carried out this academic year has arrived with the development of our eTwinning project "Kaloi ludi for etwinners: going for the gold! with the group 4th ESO students of the Classical Culture subject. We have worked with students from Belgium, Italy, France and Greece to investigate about the topic of the Olympic Games in ancient Greece and compare them with those of today. What did the Olympic motto mean and what does it mean today for athletes? What were the original sports and which ones exist today or are new? How was the sport promoted then and how is it promoted now? And the participation of women? Did they cheat? What was the life of an athlete like (training, lifestyle, food, popularity...)? How is the athlete's body represented in art then and now?

Working on this eTwinning project in the context of a school year has not only contributed to achieving the content and learning standards set out in the curriculum of our subject; It has also led to the implementation in the classroom of a series of educational strategies for the development of skills that are absolutely necessary in 21st century society (communicating in English with students from other European centers, use of digital tools, initiative and

autonomy at work, knowledge of different European realities, learning to learn, etc.). If you are interested in knowing first-hand how the students have experienced this project, click here to listen to the radio program on Canal Chamizo that broadcasts this experience. This entry on the center's website contributes to spread this experience in the center and publicizing the digital magazine https://madmagz.com/magazine/1989296 A mag created with Madmagz.

Etwinning projects in 20/21

All the eTwinning projects decorate our corridor walls, that is how we work with our students, promoting the Europe we want and motivating them to join eTwinning projects.

2nd A Bilingual Section has been taking part during this school year in an eTwinning project called "ACTIVE EU-TWINNNERS".

Students from Italy, Georgia, Greece, Ukraine and Spain have developed values to become a responsible EU citizen and to take action in order to make the wordl a better place.

Nowadays, young people in Europe have to face authentic challenges related to important issues, such as equality, diversity, safety at school, environmental problems...

We are really pleased to share our final products.

LET´S GO TOGETHER ETWINNERS!

Culture in Spain

Natalia has focused on three very famous Spanish singers. Two of them are quite old, but still well-known, while the other one is one of the current top singers nowadays, both in Spain and worldwide.

Mar has focused on the most traditional music style in Spain, "flamenco".

David and Pablo had the same topic, films and TV. They decided to do it as a conversation. They were speaking about some popular Spanish films and also about the so trendy, Netflix.

One of Carlota favourite hobbies is drawing and painting. In this video, she speaks about art in Spain. She has mentioned three of the most relevant paintings in our history.

Below, you can see Gaspar's trend: Instagram and pictures. This app is probably the most popular in our country right now. There are a lot of "influencers" who are becoming more and more famous.

Carla loves Tik Tok, so she has talked about that! What it is, one of the first most popular challenges and the last one...

Antonio has talked about a very popular trend since 2017: Latin trap. It's a quite new music style, so trendy among young people.

Places worth visiting in Spain, and in our region, Extremadura

This time, students have had a really good time doing this activity. They have created a presentation about interesting and popular places in Spain, focusing on our region, Extremadura. In these two videos, you can see two of our participants talking about their own experience in these wonderful places: Monfragüe National Park and the Roman Theatre in Mérida.

Our students received their first letters from the British penpals, they are happy to meet new people and being able to make new friends from an English speaking country. Some of the letters received are on the Bilingual Wall in our school, those letters are handwritten and with nice drawings and colours, to make them more attractive and fun.

"YOU HAVE A MESSAGE" IS BEING A SUCCESS

Our students are working hard and doing their best. The project is about penpals, and the main purpose is to meet new people and make new friends from an English speaking country. Our partners in the project are from Little Ness,  Shrewbury. They are students of the same level and they share the same likes and hobbies.

In this padlet you can see their mails and how they interact with their penpals.
